### The Read menu
What it is: The nav’s menu of what there is to read.
How it works: Tap Read and a menu of links opens under it; Esc or a tap outside closes it. On a narrow screen the nav folds into a Menu button that holds the same links, Community and Contact.

### Request an invite, in the nav
What it is: The site’s one ask, in the nav: a button that opens a small form under it.
How it works: Tap it and the form opens under the button (on a phone, as a panel under the nav) with the email field ready; Esc or a tap outside closes it. Sending thanks you in place. It goes to Eden’s own request list, which Joel reads; you hear back when you’re let in.

# Eden terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Joel Adejola, as The Pingback ("The Pingback", "we", "us"). They cover Eden and its pages at eden.actor. By signing in to Eden, you agree to them. Our [privacy policy](https://eden.actor/privacy/) says how we handle your data, and is part of these terms.

## 1. What Eden is

Eden is a home for your digital life. You get a home of your own, which holds the mail and calendar you connect, what Eden learns from them, your conversation with Eden and what you write. Eden reads, drafts and acts for you, under grants you give.

Eden is in beta. It's still being built, and it changes often.

## 2. Our promises to you

1. **Only you, and those you grant, can see your home.** We don't read it except in the limited cases our privacy policy lists.
2. **Nothing acts in your home without your grant.** Eden and its actors act only within the grants you give, and you can change them at any time.
3. **Nothing of yours reaches an AI model until you agree** on Eden's consent screen.
4. **You can take all of it and leave.** You can download a full copy of your home, and delete it, whenever you like.

We never train models on your home, never sell your data, and never use it for advertising. The Pingback is being formed as a public benefit corporation whose charter names custody of your data, and of the actors that act for you, as its public benefit. When it exists, it takes on these terms and their promises.

## 3. Who can use Eden

You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms.

Eden opens by invitation. You can sign in only with an address that has been let in.

You sign in with a passkey on your own devices. Keep them and your password manager secure, because anyone who can unlock them can reach your home. Tell us at once at founders@pingback.ai if you think someone else has.

If you use Eden for an organisation, you confirm you may connect its accounts.

## 4. Your content stays yours

Everything in your home is yours: the mail and calendar you bring in, what you write, your conversation, and what Eden makes from them for you. We claim no ownership of it.

You give us permission to store, copy, process and send your content only as needed to run Eden for you: to keep your home and its backups, to show it to you, to send the companies that do a task you asked for or allowed what that task needs, and to act on your grants. This permission ends when you delete your home, apart from what the privacy policy says we keep afterwards.

You confirm you have the right to bring your content into Eden.

## 5. Eden acts under your grants

What Eden may do on its own is set by grants: who may do what, where, and until when. You see and change them in Settings.

- Anything that reaches another person, or can't be undone, asks you first or tells you after, as you set it.
- Every act leaves a receipt, and many can be undone.
- Actors you add follow the same rules, under the grants you give them.

You're responsible for what you approve. Eden's drafts, summaries and facts come from AI models, and they can be wrong. Read what Eden drafts before you send it, and check what matters before you rely on it. Eden doesn't give legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.

## 6. Connected services

Eden works with services you already use, starting with Google (Gmail and Google Calendar). Their own terms apply to your use of them. Eden's access lasts only as long as you allow: disconnect an account in Settings, or remove Eden in that account's own settings, and it ends.

These services can change or stop what they offer to apps like Eden.

## 7. Acceptable use

Don't use Eden to:

- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- send spam or unsolicited bulk mail;
- harass, threaten, deceive or impersonate anyone;
- reach an account, home or system you aren't allowed to;
- probe, scan, overload or get around Eden's security, except as research you report to us first at founders@pingback.ai and carry out without harming anyone's data;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell Eden;
- produce anything the usage policies of Eden's AI providers prohibit.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, as section 10 says.

## 8. Eden's intelligence

Eden thinks with AI models from other companies, chosen by us for each task. What's sent to them, and their promise not to train on it or keep it, is in our privacy policy. If you sign Eden in to an AI plan of your own, that plan's terms also apply to the work Eden does on it.

## 9. Fees

Eden costs nothing during this beta. If that changes, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, and we'll never charge you without your agreement.

## 10. Ending

- **You can leave at any time.** Download a copy of your home, then delete it, both in Settings. Deleting is permanent.
- **We may suspend or end your access** if you break these terms, if your use puts others or Eden at risk, or if the law requires it. Unless the law or someone's safety prevents it, we'll tell you why first and give you time to download your home.
- **We may end Eden** as a whole. If we do, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, and you can download your home until then.

Sections 4, 11 and 12 continue after these terms end.

## 11. Availability and disclaimers

Eden is in beta, and it's provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we don't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or right. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose: your mail and calendar stay at Google, and you can download your home at any time.

To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

## 12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from Eden or these terms. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of 100 US dollars and what you paid us for Eden in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or takes away the consumer protections of the country you live in.

## 13. Changes to these terms

We post every change here, with a new effective date. If a change matters to you, Eden tells you 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Eden after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can download your home and delete it.

## 14. Everything else

- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Eden.
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it.
- We may transfer these terms to The Pingback once it's formed, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Our promises in section 2 and in the privacy policy go with them.
- You may not transfer these terms without our written agreement.
- We may use feedback you send us freely, without owing you anything.
- Eden's software, name and marks belong to The Pingback.
